After Jorge Masvidal starts fight backstage, UFC now only one step away from refs being hit with steel chairs.

After a week where Connor McGregor smashed up a fans’ phone, and Tony Ferguson was hit with a restraining order, it would have been a safe bet that the UFC had filled their weekly quota of stupid antics – that was until Jorge Masvidal decided to throw his hat into the ring of dumb arse choices by knuckling on backstage at UFC London.

“I didn’t do nuffin,” declared an angry Masvidal. After it was pointed out to Jorge that he was actually mid-interview on camera when all this went down, he then said, “We’ll, I was being interviewed and Leon Edwards said something – I didn’t quite hear him, I just figured it was mouthy – so naturally I walked over to confront him and that’s when he threw his face at my fists four times.”

Having a week that went from bad to worse, UFC promoter and poster child for a heart attack, Dana White, was none too pleased about the debacle.

“Jesus. Every day we’re becoming more and more like the WWE. Might as well have fights end with the ref getting hit with a steel chair,” declared the red-faced goof.

Hopefully for the UFC next week is not as eventual and requires less law enforcement involvement. Fortunately for Masvidal, he will mostly likely be let go with a warning as British MMA rules clearly state that without a headbutt, pint glassing, or referring to the other party as a “wanker”, this altercation is not considered an actual fight.
