Internet trolls begin their search through Rogans comedy from 1994.
“Do you know what I made the mistake of doing yesterday? I watched Ace Ventura: Pet Detective with my 8-year-old and my 10-year-old,” Rogan said. “I didn’t realise how transphobic that fucking movie is.”
“Joe Rogan has been performing standup comedy since 1988 and there are hundreds of hours of footage of his standup online, and I’m going to watch every second of it until I can find him saying something offensive, and then I can be an internet hero,” said professional internet troll and holier than thou keyboard warrior, Liv Swithmum.
Liv likes to spend her days being offended at things, and one of her all-time favourite things to do is hold people accountable for the things that they said 10 years ago on Twitter.
Rogan discussed the main plot twist – in which a detective, played by cisgender woman Sean Young – is revealed to be transgender.
“All the cops are throwing up… It’s off the charts,” Rogan added. “Everyone is freaking out. It is so insanely transphobic.”
Pet Detective isn’t the only old movie to come under scrutiny by the posthumously offended generation. Also on the radar are movies like ‘Superbad’, where the entire movies premise is to get girls drunk enough to actually want to have sex with Jonah Hill.
Just wait until they discover ‘Animal House’ (1978), where a boy has an internal dialogue about what to do with a passed out teenage girl. Or ’16 candles’ (1984), where two boys discuss what to do with a passed out teenage girl. Or ‘Revenge of the Nerds’ (1984), where boys discuss what to do with… well you get the point.
