“I’ve grown up with him on the radio non-stop and feel I’m owed an apology too.”
After posting an ultrasound image on the 1st April and leading many Belibers to trust that he and his wife Hailey Baldwin were expecting, J.B. has felt the brunt of an internet backlash with some fans upset at his lack of sensitivity.
As pregnancy can be a struggle for some women and couples, the prank was not well received via a number of tweets outraged at his actions. Justin was naturally quick to follow celebrity internet protocol 101 – make a joke, receive some complaints by a small number of people without a sense of humour, grovel for an apology – but this has not placated the larger collection of people familiar with his work: the general public who want him to apologise for his entire music career.
“When’s he going to say sorry for all his shitty music, huh?” asked Johnno Trevorson (29). “I’ve grown up with him on the radio non-stop and feel I’m owed an apology too.”
“His music was cute was I was 10, but once I hit the big 1-1 I realised how formulaic and auto tuned it was,” typed Twitter follower, Justurnedtwleve2019.
With no apology forthcoming for what he has done to the music industry, it seems music lovers will have to continue to wait for Justin’s act of contrition. Until then, we’ll still have to listen to him on every FM station, every hour, every day until music industry geniuses crap out another 12-year-old that they can milk for two decades.
