Truck driver breaks with age old tradition and wears a green singlet.

Gold Coats truck driver, Mark Arnott (27), made a bold statement this week when he broke with the truck drivers uniform code by wearing a singlet that was not regulation blue.

Walking into the crib room at the NoDoz Trucking Company first thing Monday morning, the boys all thought it was a classic Arnott joke, expecting him to change long before he crawled into his cab. To their surprise, Mark had no such intentions.

“Bro, what the fucks going on here?” asked fellow truck driver, Taka Lotsofpills (32) of Auckland. “You trying to tell us you’re some kind of poofter or something?”

Within moments of Taka’s question, a circle had formed around Mark, with over seven drivers demanding to know just what the g-o was. Raising his hands in supplication, Mark finally opened his mouth to speak.

“Mate, the missus washed me blue singlet with a yellow dress of hers. Turned everything green.” After a few seconds silence, the entire crib room erupted in laughter, slapping Mark on the back and welcoming him back into the fold.

After smiles and handshakes were exchanged, Taka loaned Mark a blue singlet so everything could go back to normal. Fortunately for everyone at the NoDoz Trucking Company, thanks to Takas kindness, the supervisor didn’t have to suspend Mark without pay for the uniform violation.
