Satirical websites struggling to keep up with ridiculousness of reality.

You can’t out-stupid these people.

When a person complained about racism in relation to a British Army recruitment poster which featured a soldier wearing camouflage – the criticism being that this was ‘black face’ and an outrage – one could be forgiven for thinking that society couldn’t get any stupider. Well, it seems that belief is patently untrue as satirical websites are now struggling to separate real life from genuine piss takes.

Like what, you may ask? How about the protesters who were dead against President Trump’s border wall, who collectively linked arms to block entry into a building thereby proving that walls do in fact work?

How about Alyssa Milano? Who wanted to protest Georgia’s abortion law and chose to do so by promoting abstinence. So the people who fought for the right to have premarital sex are now promoting a religious approach of withholding sex until marriage?

Or Emma Thompson, who was asked to give a lecture on climate change, which she did after flying more than 5,000 miles in first class on a fuel guzzling, emission emitting jet airplane?

Or lastly, the transgender movement, who expressed outrage last week when a gender swapping app was used by non-transgender people, which was a complete rejection of the notion of gender fluidity?

It seems that line between fact and satire is virtually unidentifiable these days, which makes it increasingly hard for satirical newspapers to identify that which is an actual joke, and that which is a complete joke.
