In a move that couldn’t come soon enough, identity politics is seeing some Catholic schools change the gender of God from male to gender-neutral. Naturally, the Church doesn’t have anything more pressing on at the moment – like stamping out pedophilia among its Priests – but instead should focus on appeasing a minority of politically correct radicals.
Young children in Brisbane’s Catholic Schools will now be taught to say, ‘A-them’ instead of ‘Amen’, and refer to God as ‘They’ rather than ‘He’ or ‘Father’, as the Bible says repeatedly. Like all things politically correct, the masses are ignored and never consulted, but the appearance of five blue-haired, overly pierced placard holders on the Church steps was enough for the media to get involved and force a change that over the thousands of students enrolled in the system. How do they feel about it? We’ll never know, because it’s the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.
And how are the Church figures taking this? Rather than suggest this is a change to tradition, a spokesman…person for the Church believes that nothing has changed.
“Nothing has changed,” said Father A. Diddler (56). “God still loves us whether we call he a she or him a her. And hey, let’s be honest, if parts of it are made up, why can’t all of it be?”
Touche Father, touche.
