“If anyone can find a way to lose 24 hours after a match, it’s them,” said diehard Blues fan, Lou Ser (46).
After a triumphant performance at Optus Stadium last night, where the Blues thrashed Queensland 36-8, many NSW fans still can’t quite bring themselves to trust that the cockroaches won’t somehow reverse this decision. Given that the past decade of Origin could easily be renamed the Annual Queensland Football Festival, who can blame them?
After losing seven years in a row, the Blues finally managed to win one before turning right around and losing the next three on the trot. Despite being the reigning champs after winning in 2018, Blues fans can never rest easy that the boys won’t fuck things up once again.
“No doubt we’re all praying they win Game 3, but come on – let’s be real. If anyone can find a way to lose 24 hours after a match, it’s them,” said diehard Blues fan, Lou Ser (46).
Even though Blues fans have every right to be wary, they can still celebrate with their on field performance – thrashing the cane toads from the opening minutes. While they wait with bated breath to see if this victory will in fact hold, things are so desperate in the Queensland camp that coach Kevin Walter is talking about making a change to his team for the third game – that’s right, one change! Something unheard of up north in over a decade.
