Hungry Jacks to introduce ‘Couples meal.’ It’s like a regular meal except half your fries/burger/shake gets snacked by your wife.

Standing in line waiting to order, Terry Wellington (36) of Gladstone made a point of asking his wife Kate three times if she wanted anything to eat. After Kate said no – three times – Terry made the mistake of ordering just a single meal consisting of a burger, fries and a drink. Once back at the table, it wasn’t long before Terry noticed Kate’s hand sneak over and take a chip, followed by another, and then another. It was at that point that he hit upon a great idea which he got up and mentioned to management.

“I thought, why don’t they rebrand these meals as ‘Couple meals’, because your wife ends up snacking on half of it anyway,” said Terry.

The manager at the time, Sean Gillford (15), thought this was a great idea and the two began to discuss various forms of marketing and signage that could help sell the idea. Shaking hands and saying their farewells, Terry returned to the table to find his Couple’s meal had basically disappeared, with his wife pointing out it was getting cold. Deciding to head back and order some more, Terry once again asked his wife if she wanted anything, and once again Terry stupidly believed her when she said no.

Hungry Jacks are set to launch the new ‘Couple’s meal’ at the end of the month. In the meantime, all husbands are advised that if their wife says she does not want anything to order a small set of fries just in case.
