Instagram has removed the like counter for Instagram posts in Australia and the social network warriors are not happy about it.
Perth model Jem Wolfie, who has 2.7 million followers, says she finds it “extremely demotivating.”
Other social media moguls have expressed concern that their lifestyles will be effected by this decision.
“Like, guys, how can people who like me know what I like if we don’t have a like button guys?” asked instagram influencer, Meme Me (22).
“If I can no longer show how many people like my photos of myself sitting on the beach all day then how am I suppose to get money? Work? Things are getting out of control in this mad world. Give me back my likes.”
The concept is that by removing the like button on Instagram we will be removing the social pressures millennials feel when they post photos of their food.
“How am I going to know if my breakfast was better than Amy’s if we don’t have like numbers to let us know?” asked social influencer, Luka Tme (23).
Who would have thought that one way to make teenagers feel better about themselves would be to take away their option to like something? It is indeed a brave new world.
