Internet dating is losing popularity – apparently men who lie about their identity are sick of meeting other men who lie about their identity.

Before the rise of dating apps like Tinder, lonely singles could always rely on internet dating sites like RSVP.com or Match.com. But given the internet’s uncanny ability to allow for anonymity, it seems internet dating is losing its appeal due to one simple reason – guys are full of shit.

Whether it be height, age, or claiming they like long walks on the beach – hint: they don’t – men (and women) have always taken liberties with the truth online, but it’s the oversized whoopers men tell that is seeing internet dating fall by the wayside. What kind of lies? Try claiming they’re a female when they’re not and setting up a date with another male claiming to be a female when they’re note. Such situations usually end disastrously.

“You thought I was a chick? I thought you were a chick!” said stunned internet liar, Omar Bin Lyin (31). “What kind of world are we living in when you can’t trust someone on the internet!”

Ironically enough, 2019 may have found a way around this issue with the notion that people can identify as whatever they so chose, so internet dating may make a comeback if they can figure this one out. Until such time, Facetiming or Skyping might be an essential first step for Omar to avoid any more unwanted surprises on date night.
