May?
“It’s pretty much a certainty,” said Danish physician, Dr Alan Lund.
A Danish physician has caused a bit of a stir by making the claim that veganism may lead to mental retardation. One can be forgiven thinking the stir is the implication of a diminished mental capacity due to vegan’s dietary choices, but the real issue is the number of people who think there is no ‘may’ to this.
It seems people around the world openly think vegans suffer from mental retardation. Whether it is the pathological need to tell everyone at all times they are a vegan, or the desire to glue oneself to a main road, the general consensus is that vegans just aren’t right in the head and now we have the science to back it up.
Dr Lund claims that the lack of protein and nutrients absent from their diet due to not consuming animal products is what is hindering their mental development. Whilst this may be true, one cannot deny that vegans – for the most part – are totally mental.
So next time you’re snacking on a juicy steak and begin to feel a little guilt about it, be sure to remind yourself that it could be worse – you could be a vegan.
