New study show brides choose bridesmaids based on body size. Oddly enough horny groomsmen do too.

New research on Australian weddings has revealed that 10% of women are refusing size six stunners to be their bridesmaids as they don’t want to be upstaged in their wedding photos. Also revealed was that brides are often telling bridesmaids not to lose weight so that the bride once again looks the best in the photos. While some may find this vain on behalf of the bride, it appears that groomsmen select bridesmaids based on their body size just as often.

It seems brides like their bridesmaids to be bigger than they are, and that horny groomsmen have no problem with that – particularly after six or seven beers.

“Not her, she’s too skinny,” said the bride/Johnno/Macca/Trevor, but not Stevo as Stevo likes them thin. “I need someone with a bit more meat on their bones,” said everyone bar Stevo again.

Strangely enough the article that presented these findings quickly devolved into a promotion for Jenny Craig and how to lose weight, whereas groomsmen felt no compulsion for the bridesmaids to take such measures as long as they were willing to hook up with them after the reception.

So next time a bride chooses a bridesmaid who is a little heavier than her she can take comfort in knowing that the groomsmen also don’t mind her being bigger one bit. Except for Stevo of course, but his standards have always been a bit too high.
