“We thought this was some kind of joke,” remarked a stunned Ardern.
New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, is said to be upset that the Australian Government deported a 15-year-old boy back to New Zealand this week, mainly because Kiwi’s never migrate back. When customs officials greeted the NZ native at the gates, they couldn’t believe their eyes and quickly called the Department of Foreign Affairs who in turn got in touch with Ardern. After checking that it wasn’t April 1st, that’s when phone calls got made.
“We thought this was some kind of joke,” remarked a stunned Ardern. “I immediately got in touch with Australia’s Prime Minister to congratulate him on this joke, but it turned out to be true – a Kiwi came home! So, naturally, I got in touch with Kiwi Affairs and spoke with the Local Member for Bondi.”
It was 10.00am in Bondi when Local Member, Rangi Atangi (42), got the call.
“I couldn’t believe it, bro. I thought this was a joke. So I called the Mayor of Bondi, my cousin Arangi Atangi (41) and he didn’t know about it either. So he called the Chief of Police, also our cousin Jangi Atangi (37), and she didn’t know either. It was really weird, ay?”
Australian’s were also shaken at the news, never having heard of Kiwi’s moving home either. It’s unclear whether the Morrison Government is going to deport more Kiwis, but right now a sense of unease has settled over Bondi and New Zealand (excuse the tautology).
