The New South Wales Police Commissioner, Mick Fuller, probably had a worse week than most of us last week when he put forward what was at best a dumb idea, and at worst a terrible one, suggesting the creation of some kind of ‘App’ where people would consent to sex. So, like a dating App for people to hook up with? Like the Dating Apps that already exist, named Tinder? Or Grindr?
On the one hand it’s good that a Police Commissioner isn’t well versed in such things and he has time to actually focus on his job, but surely a 30-second online search could have helped him prior to his press conference?
After the public and press let him know how he needed to catch up to the 21st century, Commissioner Fuller was quick to say it’s the “worst idea I’ve had all year.” Don’t stress too much Mick, you’ve still got over eight months to go to top it; after this idea we’re quite confident you will.
