On the bright side, floods see Sydney housing become affordable.

With the recent floods ravaging parts of Sydney and greater New South Wales, Real Estate agents are doing what they do best – putting on a grin and up-selling anything and everything they can. Which is great news for first time home buyers they say as prices have dropped to being almost affordable.

“Now’s a great time – a GREAT TIME to buy. Did you always want a pool? Well, boy are you in luck,” offered Sydney Real Estate agent, Shon Kee (22). “Snorkeling down to the basement, riding your stand-up paddle board up the stairs to the bedroom – there’s so much fun to be had. So that’s a yes on this sale, right?”

Prices may well have gone down, but people looking to buy their first home will no doubt prefer a house above sea level.

“What if I throw in some Pool Ponies? I don’t normally do this for every client, but I get the sense you’re special,” tried Shon unsuccessfully as the prospective buyers drove off in a tinne.

Time will tell whether houses sell in this market. Until then, it appears Shon’s gotta keep hustling to make that commission.
